Community Outreach
Hunger Helpers
All of the change in the offering plate is collected to make sack lunches supplemented with socks, toothbrushes, and other necessities. Members can take these and hand them out to people in need throughout the week.
Community Breakfast
With the economic difficulties of Covid-19, food insecurity in our community has increased. We have started passing out free breakfast burritos on the first Saturday of every month, and we hope to expand this program so that we can do it every Saturday. We are always looking for new ways to support the Richardson community.
Holiday Giving Tree
St. Luke’s adopts a family during the holidays from the Preschool, and also buys toys to donate to Network of Community Ministries family outreach.Justice and Advocacy
The Justice and Advocacy Team is a group of St. Luke’s members that meet monthly to raise awareness about the justice issues that affect our community, nation, and world. They alert the congregation of ways to take action to advocate for local and national policies that support marginalized communities. You can learn more about ELCA Advocacy for national policy, and sign up for alerts, or find out more about Faith in Texas for local issues. Use the Contact Us form to join this team of community activists.
